After a life-altering accident that left Calgarian musician Tobey Kai with a severe brain injury, many thought her dreams of becoming a musician would have been shattered. She struggled to talk, walk, and sing for a long time, but Tobey has fought her way back. Through heartbreak, despair, battling physical pain, and emotional whiplash, she transformed her recovery once again into art.
Known for her heartfelt and philanthropic songs like "Who are you," (inspired by her late grandfather's dementia) and "Time," (a tribute to the families who've lost their loved ones in the line of duty), Tobey now returns with a deeply personal but lighthearted original Christmas song, three years in the making, titled "Twinkle Twinkle Mistletoe."
Born from years of health struggles and personal upheaval, this song captures her whimsical and resilient side as well as her playful take on longing to reconnect with loved ones.
